Our Coalition members can provide specialty equipment for industry. Some machines are built to our customers design and others are designed by our highly trained technical personnel.

Equipment can be built and designed from complete turnkey, fully automated robotic work cells to rebuilding of existing machines. We have the ability to disassemble, analyze, rework, rebuild, assemble and prove out to our customer’s requirements.

We offer experts on staff that specialize in electrical and mechanical design, pneumatics hydraulics, tool and die, fixtures, and controls design and programming.

Our objective is customer satisfaction.

Member companies in the SMTC are capable of designing and building Form, Pierce, Trim and Staking Dies (for use in complete assembly packages) as well as small Progressive and Fine Blank Dies for automotive, medical, aerospace or any other application. Some companies specialize in prototype and short run or low volume production parts utilizing waterjet capabilities for strip layout and parts development and also for pilot parts. After production they can provide service parts, components and assemblies. Along with new die construction they also repair and maintain all die components (for example punches and cutting plates) utilizing wire EDM, waterjet and CNC milling machines as well as TIG, MIG and projection welding.

Some of the best molds in the world are produced in southwest Michigan with years of experience in the automotive, medical, aerospace and the appliance industries. With capabilities of producing molds to fit molding presses from 25 to 750 ton and with the ability to do specialty molds we can service all of your needs within a 60 mile radius of Kalamazoo, MI. Whether you need designing of a product or mold, prototyping, hard steel production molds, or short and long production runs we can help.
